Broken Egg Cafe now open
The name may be Broken Egg Cafe, but everything seems well put together for the new eatery where the Rockin' Robin used to be at 3646 N. Government Way.
The interior of the long-time cafe building is completely renovated, and the exterior will be soon. With two dining rooms, the place holds 81 customers at tables, booths and the counter. The inside room can be reserved for gatherings. Other amenities include WiFi and $1 coffee.
Owners Dianna Hunsaker and Raynae Webb describe the menu as "yummy!" with traditional American cuisine for breakfast and lunch as well as special "lite" and children's items. Daily specials such as meatloaf and spaghetti will be added. The owners have 33 years of restaurant experience between them.
"We emphasize teamwork and use ideas from employees," Hunsaker said. "We offer a homey, happy atmosphere."
Opening this past week with nine employees, hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Phone 956-0637.
'Constrictor' new for Triple Play
A high-speed waterpark slide called the Constrictor is under construction at Triple Play in Hayden. Featured on the "Extreme Waterparks" TV show on the Discover channel, the 350-foot Constrictor has three tight curves. It should open Nov. 9.
With go-karts, bumper boats, 18-hole mini-golf, bowling, a climbing wall, laser tag and indoor mini golf in addition to the water park, Triple Play is open daily. The water park includes a wave pool, children's lagoon, two-story play structure with a tipping bucket, indoor-outdoor Jacuzzi and three water slides.

Hedlund Design on Fourth
With the specialty of interior design, Eric Hedlund Design has opened at 754 Fourth St. (across from Capone's).
Eric Hedlund's roots go deep in North Idaho as the Hedlund Vocational Building at North Idaho College is named after the St. Marie's native's grandfather. Eric graduated from the University of Idaho in architecture and interior design and designed high-end houses and 30 clubhouses in California. He came to Coeur d'Alene in 2004 and designed projects for Black Rock Development.
Project Manager Robert Schmidt also graduated from UI and worked on major projects through the Northwest. He joined Black Rock in 2005 and Eric Hedlund Design in 2008.
Formerly the American Legion building, the 754 Fourth St. location was completely remodeled, and the north half will be developed. Company hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment. Phone 755-2488.
