Richard H. Flinn, 88
Richard H. Flinn, of Canby, Ore., and formerly of Coeur d’Alene and Twin Falls, passed on to join his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2012, after a short illness.
Richard, or Dick as he was known to his friends and family, was born in Twin Falls on Oct. 17, 1923, to Richard H. and Florence (Hesp) Flinn. He joined the Army during World War II and served aboard the most decorated hospital ship of World War II. After the war, he married Ruth E. Johnson, who was his first-grade sweetheart.
They were married 66 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his daughters, Roberta Flinn of Canby and Shannon (Rick) Liddell of South Dakota; his son, Kurt (Ruth) Flinn of Meridian and foster granddaughter, Jaque Johnson of Nampa. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and six foster great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Francis Putzier of Twin Falls and Patty Eastman of Mesa, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers the family requests any remembrances sent to Oregon Food Bank or the Union Gospel Mission in Portland, Ore.
