SCHOOLS: No better investment

| August 8, 2012 9:15 PM

Voting yes for the upcoming school bond is money well spent. My daughter attends Sorensen Elementary, which has done amazing things since becoming a magnet school, despite the aging building and outdated infrastructure to support the latest technology. We cannot expect our students and educators to do their best in outdated buildings.

Try focusing on your teacher with three fans running in a classroom to keep it cool! These schools are not getting marble floors and granite countertops — they are getting sorely needed basic upgrades. We need to invest in our schools if we continue to expect great things from our students. Voting yes on the school bond Aug. 28 is the right thing to do.
