'AMP' up for college

| August 4, 2012 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Kady Suhr won't have any problems energizing for late-night cramming sessions at college.

A cooler of AMP Energy drinks will take care of that.

The 2010 Coeur d'Alene High School graduate received a $500 package of items to make college life a bit easier.

Suhr, who will be attending the University of Idaho, took home a blanket, fan, towels, sheets, storage drawers, night stand and a refrigerated giant cooler, shaped like an AMP Energy can, packed with AMP Energy drinks.

She won after submitting a two-minute video to Triple Play Family Fun Park, explaining why she deserved to take first in the "AMP your Dorm Room," contest.

The 19-year-old learned about the contest on Facebook, and recruited her mom, Deanne, to help with the production. Hers was one of three entered in the contest.

"My video just showed how disorganized I truly am, and how this would help me get around that," she said.

Suhr will take the dorm essentials with her to UI. where she'll study international business and economics.

Her prize, especially the AMP Energy drinks, will come in handy while reading and writing in her Moscow apartment, when really, she'd rather be sleeping.

She downed two cans on Friday and yep, she was wired.

"They're good," Suhr said.
