TICKET: A sign of city neglect

| August 3, 2012 9:00 PM

We recently attended the National Sidecar Rally at the fairgrounds. While there, we decided to visit downtown and the harbor. We parked our motorcycle in a lot where an empty office building was for sale. When we returned, we found a parking ticket.

We tourists saw nothing to indicate we couldn’t park there and were sure it was OK when a “meter maid” vehicle went by with the driver watching us. We thought he was admiring our bike, but he must have been waiting for us to leave.

Our visit to Coeur d’Alene was dampened by this experience. To keep tourists coming, we suggest better signs to help with parking.
