GOP: Watch the leftist wing

Everyone knows the Kootenai Republican Party is hotly divided on key issues, local and national. But the leftist wing of the party has for some time leveled allegations of conspiracy and subversion at, of all groups, the local Constitution Party. To hear Ward and his socialist cohorts tell it, the Constitution Party of this county is the hidden hand behind all that transpires.

We know not whether to be insulted or flattered.

Mr. Ward likely got the idea of scapegoating the CP from leftist news blogger Dave Oliveria who sees boogeymen constitutionalists lurking behind every tree. But Ward hopes to capitalize on this conspiracy theory in order to move the Overton Window to the left. After all, if they can scare people with stories of shadowy constitutionalists, local politics will shift leftward right into the iron grip of Ward’s anti-constitution “unity.”

We citizens can no longer afford to fall subject to the Wards and Oliverias out there. As with any illusionist, listen to what they say, but always watch their hands.
