Max does it!
He amazes me. He is so dedicated. He is so driven. Rain or shine he is out there exercising everyday. He also travels all over the world and no matter where he goes, he exercises. He is a baby boomer. He is amazingly busy in his professional life, but he never stops taking care of his health. I see him swimming and biking and he never wavers in his determination, even if he feels fatigued, he never stops. I have seen it and it is incredible.
He doesn't even know how fascinated I am with his commitment, but I am. I am in awe of his dedication to his health. I wish everyone I knew could be so sure of what they should do everyday to take care of their physical health. I don't know his secret or what makes him so sure, but I know if Max can do it so can we. In fact sometimes when I don't feel like swimming, biking or running I think of Max. I think of his masked, straight snorkel body propelling itself through the water right toward me. I tell myself if Max can do it everyday then so can you. I try to find excuses. You know that list of responsibilities is so long sometimes I wonder if it will ever get checked off. But then I think of Max. I am sure his list is long too, and it doesn't seem to matter to him, he does it anyway.
So I find my running shoes, or slip on my suit and sometimes I feel too tired to even do it, but it is amazing once I actually get in the water or on my bike something incredible happens. I feel my body take charge and my mind goes along for the ride. And because of that great mind body connection suddenly I love the way I feel when I am done. I feel like no matter what may come my way that day, I am in charge of my health. So everyday that's the goal 30 to 60 minutes a day. Even if I don't feel like it or I don't really "have time," I do it anyway. Thanks Max, I know you don't even know it but you inspire me!
