Elizabeth Lillian Wright, 84

| August 1, 2012 9:15 PM

In memory of Elizabeth Lillian Wright, 84, who passed away on July 28, 2012, from natural causes while living at the Life Care Center in Post Falls. We wish to thank all the staff at that facility for their great compassion and professionalism in the care of our mother.

Elizabeth was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Londonderry, Ireland, to John and Gertrude Bull. Elizabeth grew up in Bedford, England, and served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) as a Communications Operator during World War II. Her father, John Bull, a stout British Minister, forbid her to date any American Servicemen, since he did not want her moving away from her family to the USA.

In 1945, Ashley E. Johnson of Norwich, England, who was a Co-Pilot/Flight Engineer in a RAF Avro Lancaster heavy bomber, married Elizabeth and they moved to the Post Falls/Spokane area in 1947 to start a family. Ashley passed away in April 1972 and Elizabeth remarried in 1978 to Kenneth G. Wright of Seattle who passed away in 1999.

Elizabeth is survived by three of her five children, Anne Shaw of Vancouver, Wash., Ian Johnson of Post Falls and Kevin Johnson of Post Falls. Elizabeth also has 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at the Post Falls Senior Center, 1215 E. Third Ave., Post Falls.
