County Clerk: $11.2M will 'flow' to URDs

| April 4, 2012 5:09 AM

Urban renewal agencies in Kootenai County will receive $11.2 million in incremental tax dollars for the current tax year, reports the Kootenai County Clerk's office.

The amount reflects a 3.9 percent increase over last year, and "will be diverted from 18 different taxing entities and flow to four urban renewal agencies instead," says a press release sent out this morning.

“My office has again posted this information online,” said County Clerk Cliff Hayes, in a prepared statement. “The reports show the same information two ways: incremental property tax funds that will flow to Kootenai County’s urban renewal agencies, and sub-totals by the taxing authorities from which the funds are being diverted.”

The reports can be downloaded from this page or viewed on the county's website, URD Funding

The reports released today are premised on all property taxpayers paying taxes owed in full and on time.
