COEUR d'ALENE - Police are seeking a suspect who broke into a business and fled with a bag of coins.

According to a police report, a man described as white, late 30s, bald, 5-feet 8-inches tall, 200 pounds, and wearing a dark hoodie, tried to open the locked door at Coin Nuts about 9 p.m. Sunday.

About an hour later, according to a surveillance video, the same man wearing a cloth mask returned in a newer Ford Ranger pickup truck.

He smashed the left glass door, then jumped over the glass display counter closest to the front door.

He dumped two trays of coins in a light-colored bag, then selected several items from the display case and placed those in the bag, too, the report said.

He jumped back over the counter and walked to the north end of the display room.

"He took a large hammer out of the bag and broke the glass to a display case. He then selected several items and put them in the bag," according to the report.

The suspect fled.

An investigation continues.
