Hoffman then scored the equalizer nine minutes later from one yard out after battling for possession with a Bulldog defender right in front of the goal, and Webster added the game winner midway through the second half.

Orofino 2

SPIRIT LAKE - Two first-half goals by April Sutton helped Timberlake defeat Orofino in an Intermountain League soccer match.

The Tigers (6-6-1, 5-3-1 3A IML) and Maniacs combined to score three goals in the first 11 minutes of the match.

"I think it was just the kids settling in," Timberlake coach Steve Michael said.

After the flurry of goals, the scoring settled until Timberlake's Mercedes McComb scored late in the 74th minute off an assist from Sierra Michael.

Michael had two assists in the game.

But it wasn't the goals by Sutton or the assists by Michael that caught the coach's eye after the game.

"Destiny Moffitt, a junior, has really been stepping up," Michael said. "As a coach we can't see everything during the game. But watching the tape, you get to see everything from a different angle, and I have been able to see Moffitt in a different light. She's really been putting in overtime for us."

The Tigers are idle until traveling to Lakeland on Oct. 6.
