JOBS: Labrador on correct track

| September 23, 2011 10:00 PM

I heard a great quote: "Jobs are Obama's Loch Ness Monster; you always hear about them but never get to see them, not even grainy photos."

Government never has and never will create wealth (jobs), it can only confiscate it. What the president needs to do is simple, stop impeding the economy by taxes, threats of taxes and regulatory burden.

If Raul Labrador and his fellow Congressmen do nothing but point out how the executive branch is screwing up, then I will maintain that they have served us well. Additionally, in every instance of discernable job performance, our current Congressman has done precisely what he was elected to do. One example is the Jeremy Hill incident. Some constituents wanted Rep. Labrador to be more proactive and his reticence created anger but he could not and did not use his bully pulpit to attack the Fish and Wildlife Service for doing what they had to do under the current Endangered Species Act. Now that the dust has settled our Congressman and two Senators are doing what, under the Constitution, they are tasked with - correct a repressive law. It's not inaction on Raul's part, it's a simple understanding of governance.

We have a Congressman who is proving himself effective and responsible within the bounds of the law. Not once in the campaign did he proclaim "As soon as I get to Washington, I'll end unemployment" because he's smarter than that. Job creation will occur when heavy handed government is countered and Raul Labrador is proving himself as the necessary correction that will lead, in the long run, to a healthy economy and a healthy country.
