NOTICE FOR COMMENT USDA ? Forest Service, Northern Region Idaho Panhandle National Forests Bonners Ferry Ranger District Boundary County, Idaho The Bonners Ferry Ranger District has completed a Supplemental Environmental Analysis (SEA) for the East Fork Meadow Creek Project. The supplemental EA updates the analysis and further addresses the comments and concerns brought up during an appeal of the May 2011 East Fork Meadow Creek Alternative 2-South Decision. Some key changes are: dropping all or portions of several units due to economic or archeological concerns, minor changes in the rerouting of FS Trail 32 and the dropping of one quarter mile of proposed new system road due to hydrologic concerns. The original Environmental Analysis (EA) was released to the public in March of 2010. The complete SEA, along with the newly supplemented reports and other supporting documentation, is available for viewing and downloading on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests website at http://fs.usda.gov/goto/ipnf/projects. To request a hardcopy version of the SEA (or for additional information), contact Doug Nishek by phone at (208) 267-5561. The proposed action would treat vegetation using a combination of silvicultural prescriptions on approximately 1,297 acres. These treatments would be accomplished through a combination of logging systems including ground-based and skyline equipment. Comments are invited on this analysis and will contribute to a decision being made by the Responsible Official. Comments must meet the information requirements of 36 CFR 215.6. Only those who provide timely comments will be eligible to appeal the decision pursuant to 36 CFR part 215 regulations. Comments received in response to this solicitation, including names and addresses of those who comment, will be considered part of the public record and will be available for public inspection.
