NIC tries to wrap up SWAC volleyball title

| October 28, 2011 9:00 PM

The North Idaho College volleyball team (20-7, 7-1 Scenic West Athletic Conference), ranked fifth in the NJCAA, can wrap up the conference title with victories this weekend against the bottom two teams in the SWAC.

The Cardinals play tonight at Utah State University-Eastern Utah (5-19, 2-6) and Saturday at Colorado Northwestern (3-17, 1-7).

NIC would also win the SWAC title with one victory and a loss by seventh-ranked Salt Lake (21-6, 7-2) tonight at fourth-place Snow (5-12, 3-6).

The SWAC champion plays host to the Region 18 tournament next weekend.

If NIC and Salt Lake finish tied for first in the SWAC, Salt Lake would host the Region 18 tournament because NIC hosted the regional tournament last year.
