A Hayden woman reported losing $700 in cash Friday, delivering a financial blow to her family.

According to a police report, the woman stopped at the Holiday station, 312 W. Haycraft, about 5 p.m. to buy gas.

She had seven $100 bills wrapped around her driver's license.

The woman said she had withdrawn the cash from the bank and was going to use it to make a car payment, purchase food and pay other bills.

After pumping gas, she went into the store and purchased a pop, the report said. At the checkout counter, she realized her ID and money in her front pocket of her sweatshirt were gone.

She searched the store, then went outside and found her driver's license on the ground near the gas pumps, but the money was gone.

The woman is hoping whoever found the money turns it in to police. She said she only recently found a job after a long search, and her family has been struggling to get by.
