| November 11, 2011 9:00 PM

Warren B. Eggart went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, after a courageous 10-year battle with multiple cancers. Warren was born in Rathdrum on July 16, 1924, to Leonard and Violet Eggart.

Following his graduation from Post Falls High School, Warren continued his education at North Idaho College. His education was cut short when he entered the military to serve his country in World War II. Following his military service, Warren continued his education, earning his associate's degree from NIC.

He married Clara Lyman in 1946 and the newlyweds moved to wherever Warren's job took them. They finally settled in Walla Walla, Wash., in 1965, where Warren dedicated more than 30 years to his career with Chevron USA. Following his retirement, his remaining years were spent working for Isaacs and Associates, where his hard work was admired by all who knew him.

Warren's passions included golfing, hunting, fishing and extended periods of time at the family lake home in Hauser Lake. Countless hours were spent with his loving wife, their five children and spouses, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Warren also loved to watch his children and grandchildren participate in their many sports and activities.

Warren and Clara's commitment to their Christian faith was demonstrated by their involvement in the First Presbyterian Church in Walla Walla, where Warren faithfully served for many years in numerous capacities. Everyone who knew Warren knew him as a friendly, caring and compassionate person, who will be deeply missed by all.

Warren is survived by his wife, Clara; children, Kathy (Chuck) Talburt, Don (Sue) Eggart, Jeanne (Mike) Helfer, Julie (David) Narum and Jim (Julie) Eggart; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation was held Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Herring Funeral Home in Walla Walla. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at First Presbyterian Church in Walla Walla.

The family is requesting donations be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice.
