HALLOWEEN: Keep religion out of it

I would like to thank all of the residents who stayed by their doors and gave out candy to all the trick or treaters Monday night. I appreciate them staying up late and I realize that it can be a financial burden to buy all the candy especially in our economy.

I would like to make a request though. Please don't hand out religious literature. Last time I checked Halloween was not a religious holiday. I respect your beliefs, but not everyone shares the same beliefs. I would not hand out the teachings of Buddha to your children out of respect for your beliefs; please respect mine.
