SCHOOLS: Keys to good leaders

What I expect in a school board candidate. They:

• Will implement back-to-basics instruction.

• Are not obligated to outside influences.

• Believe in a curriculum based on academic performance, not political goals or philosophical ideals.

• Support accountability of taxpayer dollars via independent financial audits.

• Will eliminate highly paid, top-heavy administration positions.

• Promote parent involvement, particularly literature selection.

• Will remove pro-United Nations curriculum.

• Prioritize student safety, not "average daily attendance" income.
