POWERS: Ideal for today, future

I write this letter in support of Stephanie Powers for the Coeur d'Alene School District trustee from Zone 2. I have had the privilege to know Stephanie for many years. She has been active in the leadership of several PTO groups; she has been listening to the parents of our kids. Her years in the PTOs have given her a broader perspective of the direction that the parents of our students wish the district to pursue.

While she is well-grounded at the local level Stephanie brings a rich background of educational experience from across the state. She has been on our Excel Foundation board providing insight to innovations for the classroom. Stephanie has also worked with the Albertsons Foundation board assisting districts across the state, helping our ever changing society develop the best teaching methods and techniques available.

While it would be nice to reminisce in the educational methods of our past it is important to continually be developing the educational methods best suited for today. Stephanie's hard work ethic and careful thought process will be a great asset for our School Board. I urge you to vote for Stephanie Powers.
