KRAFT: Good, dirty hands

| May 14, 2011 10:00 PM

Like so many in this country, I am often disappointed with those we elect to represent us in Washington, D.C. It seems that their decisions are typically based on personal not professional choices. That is why I find my options in a local election to be a refreshing change.

I have had the opportunity to sit and talk with Chris Kraft, and rather than him wasting my time telling me negative stories about those running against him, all his words were directed toward positive efforts to make our roads safe for everyone, winter and summer.

Not only does Chris personally know every inch of the roadways and all the related history, he knows a great deal about the residents and their land which boarders our roads. I know without a doubt that any decisions made by Mr. Kraft as a Commissioner would be based on how best it will benefit all those who live along and travel the roadways. If given a choice of a Commissioner who has actually got his hands dirty maintaining our roads, or one who has only talked about maintaining our roads, I choose the actual worker, Chris Kraft.

This may seem like a small, insignificant election compared to the issues in our nation's capital, yet I find it an opportunity for a small step in the right direction. Everyone may not see eye-to-eye with Chris, but I guarantee he will listen to all sides and consider all opinions presented to him before making professional, rather than personal decisions related to our highway district.
