POT: Medical usage warranted

| May 13, 2011 10:00 PM

This letter is in support of Rep. Tom Trail, R-Moscow and his Idaho Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act, or HB 19. In a country billed as By and For the People, and not pharmaceutical companies or law enforcement, it should not even be a controversy. Don't We the People have the right to determine what to put into our own bodies? Heck, if not, then who owns our bodies?

Many medical organizations like American Public Health Association, American Nurses Association and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society support medical marijuana. Marijuana has proven safe and effective for debilitating symptoms including nausea, appetite loss and pain. Never caused single death - unlike 500 Tylenol overdoses each year in the U.S. alone. Polls report 75 percent of Americans support the issue.

I was diagnosed with MS five years ago. Drugs have very limited positive effects for MS and are very expensive, requiring painful injections. A nutripath recommended pot to me.

English language gets its word "Pharmacy" from Greek word, "Pharmakeia," meaning "magic, sorcery or witchcraft."

I have studied causes of MS now for five years and to me there's no doubt that, like Montel Williams, it came from many vaccinations and allergy shots many years ago as a military dependent with free medical. I was GI - government issue to be used as guinea pig and pin cushion. They jabbed me at least 50 times.

I see the irony that the same giant corporations which caused my MS now criminalize relief with a natural harmless herb. Life in Police State USA with all its so-called freedoms.
