CDA: March levy vote remembered

Next Tuesday, May 17, is Election Day. We will be voting for candidates for the Board of Trustees of School District 271.

I have grave concerns about the integrity of the election process. My current concern is caused by a serious lack of concern for the process, displayed by our current Board of Trustees (District 271) in our March 8 Levy Election, just nine weeks ago. As a reminder, the ballots of those who chose to vote "No" on both Levy Measures at the March 8 Election, were not counted. This was accomplished by very creative wording on the ballots. It was the District 271 School Board Trustees who were responsible for this creative wording.

In calling it "creative" I am being very kind. In my opinion, it was an artful attempt to cause confusion, resulting in a flawed election process. It is evident to me that the character of the Trustees of the District 271 School Board is severely lacking. Do we want men and women who lack respect for our election process making decisions regarding our children?

I suggest we let them all go home and elect citizens who we can respect and trust to make the decisions regarding the education future next generations. VOTE TO REPLACE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE DISTRICT 271 SCHOOL BOARD!
