CDA: Integrity with Powers

| May 11, 2011 10:00 PM

The job of a School Board Trustee is to represent the constituents in a given area. The Trustee is to speak on behalf of his/her constituents and to see that their comments/concerns are brought to the attention of the School Board. Therefore, they are expected to act in the best interest of those they are serving, right? Well ... please read on!

The two candidates running in Zone 2 are Tom Hamilton and Stephanie Powers.

Hayden Meadows is a proudly accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) School of Choice. The families who are there choose to be there. Tom Hamilton is currently a Hayden Meadows parent and has been for five years. However, he is against the IB program! He even has an Anti-IB Fundraiser on his website! How can a candidate fairly represent a school and its constituents that he is vehemently against?

Stephanie Powers has served as PTA President at Hayden Lake Elementary, Hayden Meadows, Canfield and CHS. She has also served as the President for the EXCEL Foundation and was on the Kroc Center Capital Campaign. As the Director of Regional Support Systems for Pita Pit USA, she has a strong understanding of complex budgets.

Please vote for Stephanie Powers in Zone 2 on May 17. She will have an unwavering commitment not to do the bidding for special interest groups and will keep her constituents' best interest at heart.
