Chris Kiesewetter, 89

| May 5, 2011 10:00 PM

Chris, always ready to travel, always ready to hop in the car and go, always hungry for exotic foods, right up to the end of her stay with us. Born Oct. 2, 1921, on Long Island, N.Y., she moved to California in the 1950s and raised her family there. She moved to Hayden in 1996 to be close to her family after retiring.

With only a bookkeeping certificate, Chris worked hard and eventually retired as the CFO of a highly respected aerospace parts exporting company. Over the years, Chris traveled the world with her sister, visiting Europe, Asia, Japan, most of North America, the Holy land and the Soviet Union. Right to the end, her eyes lit up when we brought her some Vietnamese soup or spicy buffalo wings.

She is survived by her son, Phil, along with her daughter-in-law, Elisa, and granddaughter Jennifer. Other beloved family include her nieces and nephews, Tina Lynxwiler, Bob and Richard Fleckenstein.

Mom was a loving, caring and giving person who made a wonderful impact on our lives. Please, no flowers... if you wish, a donation can be made in memory of Chris to: Holy Family Catholic School in Coeur d'Alene. We will miss you, Mom. Thank you for your love and life, keep looking after us and smile always.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Please visit Chris' memorial and sign her online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
