Utility work disrupts Sherman

COEUR d'ALENE - Traffic may be disrupted next week on Sherman Avenue while the city of Coeur d'Alene Water Department replaces lines.

The first phase of the two-phase project begins Monday.

Eight water services no longer in use on Sherman Avenue between Second and Third streets will be abandoned. Work will be primarily in the parking strip and sidewalk, with possible traffic and pedestrian disruptions, but access to buildings will be maintained.

In addition, a service at Seventh Street and Sherman Avenue will be updated.

The second phase of this project involves extending the water main from the alley south of Sherman and Fifth Street, north to the water main in Sherman Avenue.
