POST FALLS - Racers will pull their machines out on the track this weekend as another season of bumper-to-bumper racing gets under way at Stateline Speedway.

Stateline Speedway promoter Joe Doellefeld recently unveiled the full lineup on the speedway's website, raceidaho.com

"I think we have a great calendar of events for this season," Doellefeld said. "We'll be racing right through the end of September."

The annual Racers' Jamboree is slated for Sunday, with time trials at 1 p.m., followed by racing at 2:15. Series in action include Hobby Cars, Street Stocks, Road Runners, Fever 4s, Super Stocks, Bump To Pass, Northwest Modifieds, ICAR Late Models, Early Stocks, Stateline Baby Grands and Super 4 Mods.

"It's always been a great event for racers and families to come out," Doellefeld said. "It is a way for the racers to run without worrying about points after having the cars in the garage all winter."

Wednesday Night Fever kicks off on April 6, and the Northwest Early Stocks, Hobby Cars, and Baby Grands start their season on Sunday, April 10.

Road Runners also take to the track on Sunday, April 17 for a double-purse race.

The Mel Auckerman Memorial 50 will be run on May 4, with all Wednesday Night Fever classes in action.

The ICAR Late Models make their 2011 debut on May 7, and return June 4, June 11, Sept. 10 and Sept. 24.

The Northwest Modifieds burn up the track May 14 and return for the Gary Miller 100 event on June 18. They also run July 21, and finish their Stateline season with the Doyle Braton Memorial on Aug. 20.

The Inland Northwest Super Stock Association (INSSA) invades the speedway on June 11 as a prelude to the Idaho 200, which runs Aug. 6-7, when they'll face competition from the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series.

INSSA concludes its Stateline season on Aug. 27.

Special events at the speedway this year include the Summer Sizzler, a new offering put on by West Coast Promoters, slated for July 16.

The Sizzler will be a street stock event, with Stateline drivers joined on the track by teams from all over the Northwest.

"All the area promoters got together and we came up with this series," Doellefeld said. "It will be a street stock series with drivers from throughout the Northwest and they'll run once each at Yakima, Wenatchee, Kalispell, Evergreen and here, with separate points and a separate champion crowned."

The Summer Sizzler is a prelude to Speed Week, which starts with Wednesday Night Fever on July 20, followed the next night with the return of the North American Big Rigs and the Festival of Fireworks.

"Yes, the big rigs are back," Doellefeld said. "That is quite a sight to see. They run two-by-two, or sometimes three-by-three."

The Stateline Show & Shine is an all-day event on July 22, and the Northwest Modifieds return July 23.

The July schedule ends with the ICAR Wild West Shootout on July 30.

August kicks off with the Road Runner, Bumble Bee, Hornet, Mosquito Invitational 100 on the 5th. The Northwest Pro 4 Alliance happens Aug. 13, and the ICAR Series 75-lap event takes place Sept. 24.

The first day of October, Stateline will host Octoberfest at the track.

"I am still working on the particulars of this event," Doellefeld said. "It will be something fun and different for the racers."

Joe said he is still working on the rules and purse for the event, but that racers should enjoy it, since all the points races will have been decided by then.

So after another long winter, door-to-door action is back. Grab your cooler (well, maybe your hand warmers) and enjoy another season rooting for your favorite driver.
