Dean Francis Englert, 80

Dean Francis Englert, 80, died peacefully on March 27, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene. Dean was born in Milbank, S.D., on December 27, 1930, to Roy and Luella Englert. He grew up in South Dakota and married Mary Koball in 1951. They moved to southern California and had seven children. Dean had a career as a systems analyst and data processor.

Later, in 1977, Dean married Myrna Kellogg, and Dean and Myrna moved to a beautiful home in Post Falls, where Dean enjoyed working in his garden. Dean is survived by his devoted wife, Myrna; his children, Susan, Laurie, Jan, Mark, Kathy, Dean and Karla; his former wife, Mary; his 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren (with another great-grandchild on the way); his stepchildren, Kathy and Jack; his sister, Margie Ellis, and several nieces and nephews. We will remember all the good things he did for us, and his wit and cheerfulness.

Viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. A funeral mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
