Make-A-Wish Foundation celebrating new office
COEUR d'ALENE - The Make-A-Wish Foundation is celebrating the opening of its new regional office in Coeur d'Alene with some help from Dockside at The Coeur d'Alene Resort.
Dockside is hosting "Steak & Fish for Make-A-Wish," an April 12 dinner and silent auction that will benefit the nonprofit's expanded operations in North Idaho.
"This is our kick-off, to let everyone in the community know about our new office," said April Needham, Make-A-Wish's development director for the North Idaho region.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at The Resort's Shore Lounge.
Tickets are $30, and include in dinner and entertainment. They can be purchased by calling Needham, 415-0109, or Dockside at The Resort, 765-2300 ext. 24.
"We're just honored to be able to participate and sponsor part of the event," said Tammy Kelly, Dockside general manager.
Make-A-Wish's Boise-based Idaho chapter expanded its territory in September to include the state's nine northern counties.
The new office is in the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce building, 105 N. First Street, Suite 100.
Make-A-Wish has been granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions nationally since 1983, and now has 65 chapters throughout the U.S.
The organization has operated in Idaho for 25 years, but the state's northern counties were previously served by the organization's Washington chapter which covered Alaska and Montana as well as North Idaho.
