SPIRIT LAKE - Senior Cheyenne Neal went 4 for 7 with six RBIs on Saturday as the Timberlake Tigers went 2-0 in the Bonners Ferry Invitational at Timberlake High.

In the first game, Neal and Jenna Hoffman had RBIs in the first and second innings, respectively, as Timberlake defeated Priest River 2-1.

"Nicole (Cameron) did a great job in the circle of letting them put the ball in play and letting the defense play behind her," Timberlake coach Mike Menti said. "It was a great game. Both teams played great defense."

Timberlake jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning on the way to a 14-4 win over Bonners Ferry in five innings.

"It was nice to see our bats come alive," said Menti of the team's output against Bonners Ferry. "We were able to string together some good hits. It was nice to have the offense going like it should be going."

The games were moved to Spirit Lake because of wet field conditions in Bonners Ferry.

Ashlei Jerome went 4 for 8 on Saturday for Timberlake (2-1), which travels to St. Maries on Saturday.
