Chiefs bring home 2-game lead in WHL playoffs

CHILLIWACK, British Columbia - Spokane goaltender James Reid stopped 26 shots for his first career playoff shutout as the Chiefs defeated the Chilliwack Bruins 5-0 on Saturday in front of 3,217 at the Prospera Centre to take a 2-0 lead in their best of seven series.

After a scoreless first period, Spokane's Kenton Miller opened the scoring 2:32 into the second period. Dominik Uher and Blake Gal added goals for Spokane as they outshot the Bruins 24-9 in the period to take a 3-0 lead.

Steve Kuhn scored midway through the third period and Darren Kramer added his third goal of the series late in the third period to cap the scoring for Spokane.

Spokane outshot Chilliwack 47-26 in the game and will host Game 3 on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Spokane Arena.
