CENTERS: Seniors, come onboard now

| March 27, 2011 10:00 PM

As everyone in this city should know, the Coeur d'Alene Senior Center needs support from our community. They need financial support now.

We have one of the finest centers in the state of Idaho and it needs more seniors to use this facility. My wife and I attended a fundraiser this past week, and were ashamed at the lack of people there.

Legends Park Assisted Living provided a fine luncheon, as well as providing door prizes with all proceeds going to the center.

I would like to thank Mary Beth Hassel, executive director; Heather Leffler, community relations director; Debra MacDonald, health services director, and Laura Brady, dietary aide, who gave of their free time to help out. We were also entertained by Wes Hamrick, "The Valley Balladeer."

The Senior Center provides lunch four times per week. This center deserves the support from the entire community.
