Post Falls man dies in I-90 crash
COEUR d'ALENE - A Post Falls man died from a head-on collision involving a driver reportedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 90 at Barker Road in Spokane County early Friday morning.
Kenneth J. Hardin, 27, was pronounced dead at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane following the 3:10 a.m. crash.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly going westbound down the eastbound lane, Teri Marie Scheele, 29, of Spokane, was also transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
The extent of her injuries was unknown Friday. She has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A WSP accident report states it was unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
Hardin was headed east in a 1989 Mazda MX6 when his vehicle struck a 2006 Toyota 4Runner driven by Scheele head on.
A third vehicle driven by Andrew R. Samek, 36, of Hayden, avoided the collision by crossing a cable barrier in the median, the release states. He was not injured.
