LIBYA: Let them solve problems
I just listened to an excellent discussion on NPR for and against the U.S. becoming militarily involved in the Libyan civil war. We could be entering troubled waters which could cause untold harm to our country.
It may be true that the rebels causing these uprisings in Muslim countries are indeed instigated and funded by al-Qaeda. The intent would be to keep stirring up unrest and war until the U.S. feels compelled to get involved in a third war in the Middle East, accelerating our downfall economically. They openly state that they are trying to bankrupt and overthrow America (and Israel) so we are no longer a superpower.
These extremists are serious about seeking world domination and gradually enforce their laws everywhere. They have the money from oil, the manpower and the fanatic determination to try to rule the world.
We simply cannot send money and military machinery to every war and conflict in the world, such as Sudan, Yemen, the Ivory Coast, etc. Our planes will probably accidentally cause some civilian deaths and then they can blame us, like they are doing in Pakistan, and demand blood money.
We should let the Libyans work this out and encourage them to do it as peacefully and democratically as possible, giving counsel to neighboring countries to help stop this war and protect the innocent. Remember that, after eight years in Iraq, we are told that we still can't leave because it looks like they would revert to chaos.
The laws should require that Congress hold hearings and vote on whether to become involved in another war, which may develop into a world war.
