Trojans sweep for first wins
SOFTBALL
MOSCOW - Sophomore Rachel Collins struck out 11 as the visiting Post Falls Trojans swept the Moscow Bears 2-0 and 15-4 in a nonleague doubleheader Wednesday.
Kendyl Henderson went 3 for 3 for the Trojans in the first game.
"We finally had a chance to get outside on Tuesday and that helped a lot with our defense tonight," Post Falls coach Jack Foster said. "Rachel threw strikes and we caught the ball and made the plays we needed to make."
Collins hit a two-run triple as Post Falls scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning to pull away in the second game.
Post Falls (2-4) travels to Lewiston for a 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader on Friday.

COEUR d'ALENE - Senior Kaleb DeHaas went 4 for 6 with five runs scored and four RBIs as the Vikings swept the Bears in a nonleague doubleheader at Ted Page Field.
In the first game, Coeur d'Alene used a five-run sixth inning to pull away for the win.
"Our guys just took a good approach at the plate," Coeur d'Alene coach Nick Rook said. "Our guys made some adjustments."
Matt Lambert went 2 for 4 with two RBIs in the first game for Coeur d'Alene.
Drew Turbin, Danny Lockhert and Bubba Duran had two hits apiece as the Vikings jumped out to a 6-1 lead after the first inning on the way to a 15-2 victory.
Coeur d'Alene (3-0) faces Centennial in a doubleheader Friday at Airport Park in Lewiston.
