Finney relays scheduled
for today in Post Falls
POST FALLS - Weather permitting, of course, the 19th annual Christina Finney Relays are scheduled to unfold today at Post Falls High.
Field events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., and running events are scheduled to start at 2:45.
The eight-team field includes Coeur d'Alene, Lake City, Post Falls, Lakeland, Sandpoint, Lewiston, Moscow and Timberlake.
The format changed from a pure coed meet years ago. Now, it's a traditional track meet, but the winner is determined by combining the team scores from the boys and girls teams from each school.
Sting soccer to host festivals
for Coeur d'Alene, Hayden rec
The Sting Soccer Club will host soccer festivals for the Coeur d'Alene and Hayden recreation departments in the coming weeks.
On Saturday, April 9, the club will host events for the Coeur d'Alene group at Ramsey Park, with the Hayden session at Croffort Park to be held on April 16.
Sessions will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration coming up for
Cd'A Public ladies 18-hole league
Registration for the Coeur d'Alene Public ladies 18-hole golf league will be held on March 30 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Coeur d'Alene Public Golf Course.
Yearly association dues are $50 and required handicap information must be reported to either Mary Jo Bell (765-5716) or Pat Frank (765-4832).
Weather permitting, opening day of play will be on April 6.

Five Chiefs honored by WHL
Five Spokane Chiefs were honored by the Western Hockey League when the league handed out its regular season awards.
Coach Don Nachbaur was named the conference's coach of the year finalist, while James Reid secured the goaltender of the Year honor and Tyler Johnson the most sportsmanlike player of the year.
Both Reid and Johnson were joined by defenseman Jared Cowen on the Western Conference All-Star first team, marking the first time that three Chiefs earned the post-season honor. Brenden Kichton, the highest scoring defenseman in the WHL with 81 points, was named to the second all-star team. Kichton finished the season with a team high +55.
