Race/walk fundraiser to benefit PFPD's K-9 program

POST FALLS - The first Leashes and Laces fundraiser for Post Falls Police's K-9 program will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Greyhound Park and Event Center in Post Falls.

The event includes a 5-kilometer walk/run and participants are encouraged to bring their leashed canine.

Participants should not bring aggressive or non-vaccinated dogs.

Cost is $25, which includes a T-shirt.

Registration is at the Post Falls Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall or at the police station. Children younger than 12 are free.

Race packets can be picked up on Friday from 4-6 p.m. or on race day from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

A pre-race meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. on race day.

Trophies will be given to the first-place male and female overall finishers.

Each finisher will receive a medal. There will be a contest for the best-dressed dog.

Koda, PFPD's K-9, will give a demonstration after the race.
