KiDDS Dental offers wide range of services
Jared Evans, DMD, sees about 45 patients every day at KiDDS Dental in Liberty Lake.
"There's a lot of kids out there, that's for sure," the pediatric dentist said. "Being a children's office, it's set up differently. It's more catered toward children."
KiDDS Dental offers a wide range of children's dental services, including fillings, crowns, sealants, fluoride treatments and more. The office treats a wide range of patients, from infants to teenagers. By second grade, over 50 percent of children have some form of dental decay, Evans explained - so it's good to get an early start on dental hygiene.
With an office near the state line, "We see plenty of kids from Idaho as well," he added.
After graduating from Southern Utah and Nova Southeastern universities, Evans worked a two-year residency at Miami Children's Hospital, where he learned the finer points of his profession.
"As a pediatric dentist, I had an additional two years of training that specialized in my field," he said.
Evans opened KiDDS Dental in the fall of 2007. The office at 1327 North Stanford Lane, Suite B, is a very kid-friendly place. Going to the dentist can be scary, Evans said, but he tries to make the experience as easy as possible.
"We do our best to try to minimize that (fear)," he said. Compared to previous generations, "I think we have a far better understanding as to the psychology of the experience."
KiDDS Dental participated in several outreach events during National Children's Health Month in February.
"We went out to a lot of schools in the community to explain the importance of dental health," Evans said. "We just tried to really go out into our community and educate our kids."
