RATHDRUM - Kylee Garitone, a former Coeur d'Alene High volleyball player, has been named volleyball coach at Lakeland High.

Garitone, a teacher at Betty Kiefer Elementary in the Lakeland School District, succeeds Claudia Ebel, who retired after 29 seasons and a 389-347 record.

"We're excited for the leadership Kylee will bring to our volleyball program," Lakeland High athletic director Trent Derrick said in a news release. "She has an experienced and varied background in the sport of volleyball, has excellent recommendations and is committed to continuing the process of building a strong tradition at LHS."

Garitone has coached club and interscholastic teams ranging in age from 14-and-under to college. She has played under area coaches Karla Mitchell, Carly Curtis and Bret Taylor, and has been actively engaged with the youth programs at Lakeland.
