Eldon L. Hull Jr., 'Punk,' 68

Eldon L. Hull Jr., "Punk," 68, passed away March 14, 2011, at Kootenai Medical Center. Eldon was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Coeur d'Alene.

The family lived in Post Falls where he attended school along with his four brothers and three sisters. In 1974, he married his lifelong friend Ruth Branson.

A Vietnam veteran, he served honorably from 1958 until he retired from the Navy in 1977. During his career in the United States Navy, he served on the Navy vessels U.S.S. Turner Joy and the U.S.S. Hanson. After retiring from the Navy as an E-6 Bosnmate, he was a long-haul truck driver until 1997. Punk enjoyed fishing, hunting and socializing on Facebook and MySpace with family and friends. He was a caring and generous man, who spent his life giving to his country, community and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Eldon L. Hull Sr. and Evelyn Galloway Hull; his sister: Anna May Hagnes and brother: Loren "Butch" Hull.

He is survived by his brothers: Donald, Ken and Virgil Hull; sisters: Jane Pittsley and Lynn Murphy; his wife: Ruth Hull; daughter: Cheri Hull Weber and her husband Steve of Boise; sons: Carey Gasper, Art Gasper, Justin Hull and Kelly Hull of Coeur d'Alene; sons: Jenotte Hull and wife Sasha, Roger Gasper and wife Janna of Texas. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice for excellent care and consideration they gave Punk and the family during this difficult time.

In honor of Butch the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho.
