Charles Claude Sawyer, 82

Charles Claude Sawyer, 82, of Rathdrum, passed away peacefully March 17, 2011, at home with his family by his side.

He was born in Mannington, W.Va., and moved with his family to Washington state where he worked throughout the Pacific and Inland Northwest as a Piledriver, finishing his career in Spokane as an instructor at Building Trades Training Center.

He was an avid fisherman and loved being out on the lakes with his friends and family. He always said how blessed he was, just sitting on the porch with his family and looking out at the scenery.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; children: Chuck (Margo), Dennis (Kim) and Marla; grandchildren: Travis (Katie), Darren (Stacie) and Megan; great-grandchildren: Kaylie, Keira and Cheyenne; sister Betty of Mannington; brother Tom of Shinnston, W.Va., and brother-in-law Glen of Spokane.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel. Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
