Vandals fall in CIT opener

SAN FRANCISCO - Junior Rashad Green had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists as the San Francisco Dons ousted the Idaho Vandals 81-73 in the opening round of the College Insider.com Tournament Wednesday night at War Memorial Gym.

Senior Jeff Ledbetter scored a game-high 22 points for Idaho, which concludes their season 18-14. Kyle Barone had 12 points and Brandon Wiley 11 to round out the Vandal players in double figures.

Angelo Caloiaro had 12 rebounds and scored 11 points for San Francisco (18-14), which advances to face Hawaii (19-12) in the second round on Saturday.

San Francisco built a 38-31 lead at halftime and held the Vandals to 26 of 61 shooting from the floor, compared to the Dons who made 23 of 50. The Dons also outrebounded the Vandals 44-26, with Lebetter grabbing a team-high five boards for Idaho

Former North Idaho College standout Shawn Henderson had three rebounds and three assists in his final game for the Vandals.
