Howard to speak at
NIC booster meeting
North Idaho College board of trustees member and attorney Ken Howard will be the featured speaker at the NIC Booster Club Luncheon at noon on Tuesday at the Coeur d’Alene Resort Shore Lounge.
The meeting has been moved up a week due to the school’s spring break, scheduled from March 28 to April 1.
Howard holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Kettering Institute and received a juris doctorate from Wayne State University, both in Michigan.
He worked as an engineer with General Motors, Ford and Chrysler while attending law school at night and was admitted to the Michigan Bar Association and practiced law there through 1977, when he moved to Idaho and has since operated Kenneth B. Howard, P.A., Attorney at Law since 1978.
The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

The Coeur d’Alene Crush U14 softball team is looking for experienced softball players with 1997 birthdays to complete their team roster.

Chiefs to host Games 3-4
of opening playoff round
The Spokane Chiefs will host games 3 and 4 of the first round of the Western Hockey League playoffs on March 30 and 31, no matter their opponent.
Spokane will either be the first or third seed in the Western Conference and, with four games remaining in the regular season, can potentially play up to six different opponents.
They will conclude their regular season home schedule on Friday against Seattle before traveling to Tri-City on Saturday and Portland on Sunday.
San Jose takes top spot
in latest AFL polls
The San Jose SaberCats earned the top spot in the Week 1 Coaches’ Poll after defeating the defending AFL champion Spokane Shock 76-48 last Friday in San Jose.
Spokane, who entered the season ranked first in the preseason poll, dropped to fifth.
Spokane will host Cleveland on Saturday at the Spokane Arena.
