Myrtle Jones Conner Pullen, 88

Myrtle Jones Conner Pullen, born Feb. 11, 1923, in Allen, Okla., to Eltha Garrett and Richard Jones, died March 11, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene.

She was married to Sam H. Conner on Oct. 27, 1942, in Casa Grande, Ariz., until his death Feb. 1, 1984. She then married Clarence Pullen in December 1984 in Winnemuca, Nev., until his death on Feb. 18, 1988.

Myrtle and Sam raised four children, Helen (Eugene Soares) of Scottsdale, Ariz., Louise Gillespie (Clyde Paulson) of Post Falls, Samuel Richard Conner (Jan) of Athol and Donna Thomson of Roy, Wash. Grandchildren: Catherine Soares Parsons (Scott), Cheryl Soares Mendez (Michael), Robert Lewis, Michael Winniford, Patricia and Jennifer Conner, Matthew Conner and Cheyenne Thomson.

Great-grandchildren: Michael, Danielle and Austin Mendez, Andrew and Jessica Parsons, Jennifer Lewis Mayer. Great-great-grandson James A. Mendez.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her mother, father, three siblings, son-in-law Eugene Soares and husbands Sam and Clarence.

Mom held a variety of jobs growing up from picking cotton, waitressing, to driving a school bus. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and she loved going with the Coeur d'Alene Chamber Commodores group to out-of-town parades. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, sewing, crocheting, knitting, her volunteer work and life in general.

A special "Thank You" goes to Marilyn, Jan, Barb and Jerry, and the staff at Life Care Coeur d'Alene, also to her Hospice team, Sally, Deneen and Will. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Myrtle's memory to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2011, at English Funeral Chapel in Post Falls. A short service will be held at English Funeral Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mom will be laid to rest between the love's of her life, Sam Conner and Clarence Pullen. She is with God now and will forever be in our heart's.
