Sharyn K. Hockett, 70
Sharyn K. Hockett, 70, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2011, with her loving husband and children by her side, at their Hayden home. Sharyn was born on Feb. 27, 1941, in Thief River Falls, Minn., to parents Carl and Irene Taxeraas. She spent her early childhood years in Thief River Falls and later moved to North Idaho, where she met and married the love of her life, Thomas R. Hockett.
She married Tommie on Aug. 20, 1958, in Spokane, and they were married for 53 years. With their unconditional love for each other, they raised six beautiful children: Tammy Christiansen (Dave) of Richland, Wash., Pam Alexander (Scott) of St. Louis, Mo., Tom W. Hockett of Coeur d'Alene, Sherri Lovick (Carl) of Post Falls, Shelley Brooks (John) of Post Falls, and Christy Odlin (Chris) of Missoula.
Sharyn was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family. She loved from the depth of her heart and guided her children with strong Christian values. She enjoyed flower gardens, collecting antique dolls, and crocheting. She loved to watch hummingbirds, care for her pets and go fishing.
She especially loved to see her 12 grandchildren: Jeremy, Amanda, Nick, Matt, Sarah, Andrew, Amy, Brittany, Jonathan, CJ, Diego and Sharyn. She also loved the time spent with her three great-grandsons: Ryan, Dominic and Malakai. Her deepest desire and greatest gift was the ability to love and nurture her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Sharyn is survived by her husband, six children, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three nieces (Stef, Jenn and Bethany) and two brothers (Kevin and Todd). She was preceded in death by her parents (Carl and Irene) and brothers (Stephen, Gary and Barry).
The family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association of North Idaho, 2003 Lincoln Way, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814 for their tender loving care.
Memorial services are planned for Monday, March 14, at 10 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene.
