MILITARY: Not the same thing

We think Jim Blake of Post Falls has the right idea in how to pay teachers. He suggests we pay teachers "the way we pay our military."

Following his suggestion, teachers would have all of their education and training paid for by the taxpayer, they would be paid as highly as military officers (since they all have college degrees), they can get a pension after only 20 years on the job and they would have medical care provided to them at taxpayer expense for the remainder of their lives. Imagine all of those benefits for teachers. Wait; on second thought, maybe Mr. Blake didn't think his assertion all the way through.
