Gear stolen from vehicle at CHS
COEUR d'ALENE - Nearly $1,300 worth of baseball equipment was stolen from the back of a Toyota pickup truck parked at Coeur d'Alene High School last week, according to a police report.
A student-athlete left the gear in the back of the truck while he traveled to Boise to play in a game and returned to find the items missing.
The equipment was left in the bed of the truck, which was covered by a canopy. He forgot to lock the canopy, the police report said.
About $350 in catcher's gear was missing; along with two bats worth $280; and a catcher's mitt and fielder's glove worth a combined $400. Clothing and shoes also were missing, the report said.
