Chiefs complete road sweep

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia - Brenden Kitchton scored a power-play goal late in the third period to lift the Spokane Chiefs past the Prince George Cougars 4-2 to sweep the season series Saturday at the CN Centre.

Spokane jumped out to a 2-0 lead on power play goals from Dominik Uher and Anthony Bardaro to take a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Former Coeur d'Alene Laker Tyler Johnson added his league-leading 48th goal to give Spokane a 3-0 lead midway through the second.

Prince George scored the next two goals to cut the lead to one, before Kitchton's goal sealed the win.

Spokane (42-17-4-2, 90 points) remains three games behind Portland for first place the U.S. Division and the top spot in the conference playoffs.

Spokane begins a five game homestand on Tuesday against Everett at the Spokane Arena at 7 p.m.
