Teen Film Festival screening March 5 at Cd'A library

| March 4, 2011 8:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - The videos submitted as part of Teen Film Festival 2011 will be screened and judged Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Coeur d'Alene Public Library, 702 E. Front Ave.

Festival competitors and film buffs are welcome to attend this free "Red Carpet Event" wrapping the competition sponsored by the Community Library Network in partnership with the Coeur d'Alene library. Refreshments will be served.

The competition is for ages 13-18. Individuals or groups can submit videos in one or both of two categories: Short Film, 3-5 minutes, or Public Service Announcement (PSA), 30-90 seconds. Both categories should be based on the theme, "You Are Here," which is also the teen theme for the upcoming Summer Reading programs at regional libraries.

The local competition is being held in conjunction with a video PSA contest sponsored by the Idaho Commission for Libraries. Cash prizes for the local contest have been provided by the Friends of the Library for Post Falls, Hayden, and Coeur d'Alene. The top winning competitor also earns the right to display the Teen Film Festival Traveling Trophy in the library of their choice.
