Command Center Inc. announces revenue
Command Center Inc., of Post Falls, a national provider of temporary staffing, announced revenue of $5.08 million for the four-week reporting period of February 2011, a 51 percent increase on revenue of $3.36 million for the year-earlier period.
There were 51 company owned stores in February, compared with 50 from a year ago.
Command Center's Chairman and CEO, Glenn Welstad, said, "Despite harsh weather conditions that normally impact our results in the month of February, we were able to generate better-than-expected numbers due to the outstanding sales efforts of our branch office personnel."
He said February revenue also received an added boost from a large event services contract that Command Center has serviced for the past five years.
He expects revenue growth in 2011 to increase significantly through strategic acquisitions and the opening of new branch offices in areas of the country where there are immediate needs for workers in response to the customer orders.
In both cases, management will be focused on opportunities for expansion that serve to maintain or improve margins and profitability.
Command Center provides staffing primarily in the areas of light industrial, hospitality and event services.
Large hotel projects stalled in central Idaho
KETCHUM (AP) - Four hotel and residential projects valued at $2 billion in the central Idaho resort area of Ketchum and Sun Valley that have all been approved by local officials remain stalled due to the difficult economy, developers and city leaders say.
Developer Jack Bariteau wants to build a four-story, 73-room hotel called Hotel Ketchum but said he can't find any banks or private investors willing to put up money.
"That's the only thing holding it up," Bariteau told the Idaho Mountain Express. "We spent all those years trying to get approved, and when we finally did, there was no market."
A problematic forecast for the hospitality business has caused investors to shy away, he said.
"Historically, banks were always there for these kinds of things," Bariteau said.
Sun Valley Co. has a massive project planned with a base village on 138 acres at Bald Mountain's main skier entrance of River Run, adding a hotel, restaurant and shops. The plan includes family residences and three parking garages.
