LEVY: Board better budget

It was a true treat to read an article by Jim Ballew. He and the Finance Panel had the expertise and ability to analyze the Coeur d'Alene School District finances. His comments were clear and easy to follow. I am glad he and the panel existed and did their duty.

Any voter in Coeur d'Alene that reads this article and votes for the levy deserves the tax increase. The famous movie line applies here: "Stupid is as stupid does."

Jim claimed that the Board of Trustees had minimal involvement in the development of the budget. A budget is the linchpin of any plan and if one wishes to fully comprehend an organization, one learns the budget A to Z.

Board members have duties and failure to perform them is serious. A board member has a fiduciary duty to those whom he serves.

I am so tickled pink to live in Post Falls.
